The home of the Lytton family since 1490 and re-fashioned in the 19thC by Bulwer-Lytton. There is a fine collection of manuscripts, portraits and furniture, a Jacobean banquet hall with minstrels' gallery, a British Raj display, 25 acres of formal gardens with a Jekyll herb garden and a large adventure playground with Fort Knebworth. All is set in a 250-acre country park which is the setting for many special events throughout the summer. There is a gift shop, plant sales and a licensed tearoom.
